We were looking at some pictures of Kate's dad just yesterday. He jumped out of planes in Vietnam. Lots of pictures of him smiling, if you can believe it.

I talked to someone up here just last weekend. He is a farmer in the Easton area and visited New Orleans in early May. He said, and I believe, that the real tragedy is that nothing is happening. He said that no one would stand for that kind of treatment up here.
Is that true? Are the people of Louisiana and our leaders afraid to stand up and say "Fix this problem that you created"? Or is it a reputation issue - we will give you what you ask for but we've been burned by Nagin/Jefferson/Morial/Edwards/etc before.

You forgot Customs Agents, Immigration (is that Homeland Security now?), Wildlife and Fisheries, and the US Park Service. Damn this is a long list. The best part is the guys who get caught and then get off because there are no witnesses.

I am pretty sure the City Park police are no more. Virtually all staff of the park were eliminated.

I'm not sure that's a fair characterization of the SP.

And I can't figure out why LSU and Tulane both have securty forces at the mostly common downtown campus.
