Debates Duck NOLA
Oh well the debate committee for presidential debates has deemed NOLA unsatisfactory for holding one of the debates. The main reasonings were ludicrous and basically sounded like a kid making excuses for not doing homework.
So this begs the question: Why aren't we up to snuff in the eyes of other national observers? Locally we host the best and brightest events in the nation, but we aren't good for a national event? Well, I wonder why? If our infrastructure isn't on par with these other places, why is that?
We know why. Because we have had little help from the national government, and the help we have gotten is messed up at best. They aren't coming because they haven't made their own beds comfortable enough to pay attention to us on a national level.
And as I've said in the past, if we really were to host the event, it should be in a damp, moldy building with no a/c, no food, little water, hot, humid, stinky, and disgusting. Let them debate the national needs in the same environment they left us in to live in while we waited and waited for help.
We don't need the presidential debate in NOLA. Because it would be a farce and anticlimatical anyway.

Well said. I was pissed yesterday.
Today my attitude is: screw you, USA. Secession. I want NOLA to be a UN-administered city. We're used to the corruption anyway. I'll take international corruption over Bush corruption any day. The women are better lookin.
P.S. Hope to see you at the Leonard reception in Metry, if not sooner. I was touched to be invited.
Happy Thanksgiving.
Hope you had a good trip to the islands and are feeling okay.
Enjoy family on the holiday.
When the idea of the debates being held in New Orleans came up, I had the exact same feeling - and here are my exact notes - "Convention center or chalmette. Should be uncomfortable and awful. " I hope to post a series of reasons why the debates SHOULD STILL be in New Orleans.
